DANTCHEV:DOMAIN - To Those Who Have Gone, I Sing in a Key of D (2025) [Hi-Res]

The Finnish-Bulgarian ensemble DANTCHEV:DOMAIN has released its third album, To Those Who Have Gone, I Sing in a Key of D (2025). Focused on the key of D, the record is a profoundly cinematic exploration of gratitude for life, heritage, and music. Composer and singer Anna Dantchev drew inspiration from the fragility of life and personal encounters, as well as themes of childhood, ancestry, loss, and perseverance, with gratitude as the unifying thread. The emotional depth of the songs was influenced by a life-threatening illness Dantchev was diagnosed with during the album's production. The ensemble's music interweaves Finnish folk and Bulgarian brass band influences with elements of Western classical music, contemporary jazz, blues, and rock. Dantchev, known as "the Bulgarian Voice from Finland," founded DANTCHEV:DOMAIN in 2019. The ensemble's previous works have also been successful: their debut album Say It (2020) won "Folk Music Album of the Year" in Finland, and The Lions We Are (2022) became the first Finnish release in Dolby Atmos format. The musicians include Anna Dantchev (vocals, tupan drum), Erno Haukkala (trombone), Kenneth Ojutkangas (baritone guitar, tuba), and Antti-Pekka Rissanen (drums).
