"Rose-Anna" is the second trio album by Juno-nominated Noah Franche-Nolan, featuring Jodi Proznick and Nicholas Bracewell, released on Cellar Live. Named after the musician's Acadian great-grandmother, Rose-Anna Chassé, who played the church organ, the album explores themes of personal and spiritual transformation. The structure of the album is grounded in recurring variations on Franche-Nolan's composition "Sublimation." These variations frame other tracks that showcase the trio's improvisational creativity, including the anti-war anthem "Hawks" and "A Triangle is a Bird." By naming the album after his great-grandmother, Noah Franche-Nolan honors and acknowledges the transformative power of his family's musical and spiritual knowledge passed down to him.
