On ‘TRACES’, Michael Patrick Kelly explores the theme of humanity and how different experiences in life shape people and leave their mark. For the album, the artist, who also produces his own albums, collaborated with Grammy Award-winning producer Michael Ilbert, among others. The recordings took place at the legendary Air Studio in London and Hansa Studios in Berlin.

Michael Patrick Kelly: It's important to me to make real “handmade music” that comes from the heart and not from AI tools. That's why we recorded the album the old-fashioned way, on analogue tape, with world-class musicians. The new songs are based on true stories that inspire courage. For me, every album is a new chapter in which I can grow as a musician and as a person. I am delighted that the TRACES era is now beginning and that, after ten successful years, my collaboration with my label Sony is also being extended.

The Irish-American singer-songwriter has been honoured with platinum and gold awards in Germany and various European countries for his latest albums (‘Human’ 2015, “iD” 2017, ‘B.O.A.T.S’ 2021). ‘B.O.A.T.S’ has been streamed over 400 million times and delivered five consecutive Top 5 radio hits.

In addition to his musical work, Michael Patrick Kelly has been involved in numerous humanitarian projects for over 25 years and was appointed Ambassador for Peace and Justice (SDG #16) of the United Nations in Germany by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 2024.
