Delbert McClinton - The Jealous Kind (1980)

The Jealous Kind is a studio album by American artist Delbert McClinton, released in 1980 on Capitol Records. The album was produced by Barry Beckett and recorded with the involvement of Muscle Shoals Sound, which provided its signature soulful and R&B sound with elements of roots rock and country. The album contains ten tracks, including the title track "The Jealous Kind," as well as McClinton's biggest hit, the single "Giving It Up For Your Love," which became his only song to reach the top 10 of the US Pop chart. The release of this album and the success of the single allowed McClinton to achieve significant commercial recognition for the first time, charting on both the pop and country lists. Other notable tracks include a cover version of "Take Me To The River".
