Geoff Barrow, DJ Smudge, Fuzzface - GAME (2025) [Hi-Res]

"GAME" is the original soundtrack for the debut feature film from Invada Films, a survival thriller set in 1993 against the backdrop of the fading British rave culture. Instead of a traditional cinematic score, Geoff Barrow (Portishead, Beak>) opted to create a collection of authentic dance tracks that mimic the sound of that era. The album features collaborations with DJ Smudge (a veteran of the 90s rave scene) and Fuzzface (Barrow's own hip-hop alter ego). The record is packed with raw breakbeats, acid synths, and samples created using vintage technology to achieve the honest, unpolished sound characteristic of the illegal warehouse parties of the early 90s.
