For example, in "Graduation Photo," the past and present quietly overlap, intersecting with feelings of nostalgia and sadness. The layer of "time" is always deeply woven into Yuming's music. Carefully capturing the emotions brought about by the passage of time—this is one of Yuming's lifeworks in music. And now, in 2025, her challenge is not over yet. For her latest album, her 40th, "Wormhole," she deliberately uses the name "Yumi AraI." It begins with the idea of ​​what would happen if Yumi Arai left her body and lived in another dimension? If there is such a thing as a "multidimensional world," what kind of music does Arai Yumi, who exists in that world, make? A wormhole is a tunnel that connects different time periods and dimensions - this work is an attempt to go through that wormhole and connect reality and imagination, the past and the future, and different "selves."
