“Varier: Berlin” by saxophonist, flutist, and bandleader Tamar Osborn (notably of Collocutor) is an electro-acoustic improvisation LP released on Dark Circles. Featuring a diverse ensemble that includes Maurice Louca, Bex Burch, and Dudú Kouate, the record documents the first part of Osborn's Varier sessions in Berlin. Built around open sketches and guided by themes of trance, space, and somatic improvisation, the album blends heavy baritone saxophone and alto flute textures with prepared guitars, electronics, and intricate polyrhythmic percussion to create music as a healing ritual.
