Japanese house and techno music has been making major waves with fans of deep dance music. The lack of proper distribution to the rest of the world for many artists in Japan goes back to the early 80s. In many ways, the land of the rising sun is like the last uncharted area of lesser known electronic music waiting to be discovered. One of the artists who has led the charge is Soichi Terada with this compilation. Originally released in 2015, this new 2025 edition makes the compilation now available for digital download with a bonus song. A welcomed reintroduction to Terada's warm and joyously melodic world. The compilation opens with 'Saturday Love Sunday', complete with soothing chords, crisp drum programming and that unmistakable Far East Recording shimmer. Terada's palette was shaped by his late-80s immersion in house and hip-hop as well as his embrace of digital sampling gives these tracks a wonderful playfulness. The compilation also expands the story to include Shinichiro Yokota, whose contributions add a gentler, more wistful counterpart to Terada's exuberance. The compilation peaks with 'Sun Showered'. Terada and Nami Shimada's glowing reinterpretation of the Paradise Garage classic 'Sunshower', a track that shows the love and reverence for house history infused with unmistakable Japanese elegance. Overall, an awesome collection that shows the skill and respect behind an artists who shows how house music is truly universal.
