The Salt Collective - A Brief History of Blindness (2025) [Hi-Res]

The second album, A Brief History of Blindness, from the power pop supergroup The Salt Collective, founded by French musician Stéphane Schück and produced by Chris Stamey of dB's, is considered even more accomplished and star-studded than their debut release. The album, which features a slate of potent and memorable tracks, owes much of its success to the significant involvement of guest artists, including vocalists Jason Falkner, Aimee Mann, Lynn Blakey, and Pat Sansone. The most notable contribution was the co-writing by Andy Partridge of XTC on two of the strongest compositions, which he characterized as an unexpected "collaboration that happened in a dream." The track "Waiting for the End of Time" (featuring Falkner on lead vocals) is a prime example of the power pop genre, showcasing Partridge's signature lyrical devices.
