This release is a coupling reissue of two distinct and previously hard-to-find 1967 albums by Herbie Mann: "Glory Of Love" (released on A&M) and "Impressions Of The Middle East" (released on Atlantic). "Glory Of Love" features a sound and superb arrangements of famous tunes typical of the A&M label, executed in Mann's signature style. "Impressions Of The Middle East" showcases a completely different direction, exploring Turkish folk melodies and a Middle Eastern musical palette. While contrasting in content, these two works together demonstrate Mann's rich and wide musical range, encompassing styles from Brazilian jazz, soul, and Latin to lounge and ethnic music.
