Amanda Thomas - Open Road (2025)

With a clear voice that cuts straight to the heart, Sydney singer-songwriter Amanda Thomas transforms thoughts and feelings into vivid songs that linger long after the final note fades.

For her second album, Open Road, Amanda once again joined forces with guitarist and producer David Longo. Together, they set out to create a unique sound for each track — exploring bold ideas and textures while keeping the lyric and emotional truth at the forefront.

Over the past year, Amanda has released three singles, performed live on ABC Sydney Radio, and received recognition in several prestigious competitions, including the International Songwriting Competition, Unsigned Only, and a shortlist placement in the 2025 ASA Songwriting Contest. Her music continues to resonate with a wide audience and earn admiration across the Australian music scene.

Having spent many years honing her craft, Amanda released her debut album Midnight Sun in 2009 at The Bridge Hotel, Rozelle. Since then, she has built a loyal following and performed at iconic venues including The Opera Bar, Lizotte’s, The Golden Sheaf, The Canopy Lane Cove, and major community festivals such as Moocooboola Festival and The Granny Smith Festival. In 2024, she marked another milestone with her first international performance in Los Angeles.

Amanda’s musical journey began early — performing from age nine with Johnny Young’s Talent School live group, The Bratz, before joining the Bondi Youth Wave program and attending the College of Country Music in Tamworth. Later, she spent seven years as a member of the acclaimed jazz and gospel vocal ensemble Jubilation.

With her broad experience, powerful voice, and deeply honest songwriting, Amanda Thomas continues to forge her own path — and invites listeners to join her on the Open Road.
