Lophae (pronounced "lo-fi") is a project by guitarist and composer Greg Sanders, blending elements of jazz, West African rhythms, and lo-fi aesthetics. To Friends is a collection of compositions recorded live at the Fish Factory studio in London. The group's sound is characterized by a warm, "tube-saturated" atmosphere where improvisation plays a key role. The lineup features Tom Herbert (bass), Ben Brown (drums), and Sam Rapley (saxophone). The music is imbued with nostalgia, soft textures, and complex yet subtle rhythmic patterns, reflecting the themes of friendship and the creative unity of the quartet.
