Nicola Conte - Viaggio (2025)

Nicola Conte presents "Viaggio," a new compilation dedicated to the renaissance of Italian library music from 1970 to 1979. This 12-track collection focuses on the work of distinguished yet often overlooked composers such as Amedeo Tommasi and Alessandro Alessandroni. Unlike commercial music, these works were created for film and television, affording authors the freedom to experiment with genres and emerging recording technologies, including synthesizers.

The central figure of the compilation is pianist Amedeo Tommasi, who bridged modal jazz with cinematic soundscapes. The album showcases the unique Italian style of that era, blending jazz-funk, Brazilian rhythms, and ethnic motifs. For a long time, these recordings were accessible only to industry professionals, but they are now being reissued for a wider audience. The album is scheduled for release via Far Out Recordings on November 28, 2025.
