Hans Ulrik - Christmas Moods (2025)

Christmas Moods (2024) is an atmospheric jazz release by renowned Danish saxophonist Hans Ulrik, recorded in collaboration with pianist Henrik Gunde, double bassist Matthias Petri, and drummer Anders Mogensen. The project was released on the independent label AMM-Records, founded by Anders Mogensen to promote high-quality jazz in a digital format.

The music is rooted in the traditions of Scandinavian jazz: the lyrical, "cool" tone of Ulrik's tenor and soprano saxophones intertwines organically with the delicate accompaniment of the rhythm section. Recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by Henrik Holst Hansen in Copenhagen, ensuring an authentic, warm, and intimate sound characteristic of chamber jazz recordings. The album is crafted to evoke a cozy Christmas atmosphere ("hygge") without excessive commercial pomp.
