LEM - Tairen (2025) [Hi-Res]

Elations Recordings presents "Tairen," the debut solo album by cellist Lauren Meath, performing as LEM. Recorded between 2022 and 2024, the work comprises five movements blending classical technique with elements of folk, avant-garde, and post-minimalism. The compositions are inspired by the landscapes of the Australian Otway Ranges and serve as a personal exploration of memory and self-identity. Most tracks were recorded in a single take using loop pedals on a semi-acoustic cello, augmented by piano and textural percussion. The album is characterized as both a meditative and expressive work, wherein the instrument acts as a proxy for the human voice.
