Leylanding, the second album from Reuben Myles Tyghe's project, Reuben's Daughters, marks a major leap for the British singer-songwriter. He continues to develop his natural songwriting talent while pushing his sound and instrumentation in new and fascinating directions.

Leylanding continues the appeal of his 2022 debut, Mami Wata, while also channeling the airy post-rock of The Sea and Cake, the chamber pop of Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys, and the acoustic side of The Beta Band. The album firmly establishes him as a distinguished craftsman in the independent music world.

Created over the past three years while spending time with his family, Leylanding draws heavy influences from Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the Night and the solo work of former Deerhoof member Chris Cohen. Tyghe found it beneficial to approach these songs with a "first come first served" approach.

Leylanding is also the second in a four-album cycle centered around an elemental theme, and is a subtle homage to the techniques used by his favorite band, Morphine, on their first four albums. But beyond mere tribute, Tyghe achieves something more significant with this album.
