Oidopuaa Vladimir Oiun - Singing with Echoes Through the Universe (2025)

The album is a reissue of rare recordings by the Tuvan performer Oidopuaa Vladimir Oiun. The music is characterized by a unique synthesis of traditional throat singing (kargyraa technique) and bayan (accordion) accompaniment, which is an atypical combination for classical Tuvan music. The lyrics and mood of the compositions are deeply rooted in the author's personal tragic experience, having spent a significant part of his life in prison. Unlike famous ensembles such as Huun-Huur-Tu, Oidopuaa's sound is rawer, more minimalist, and reminiscent of the blues in spirit. This release aims to preserve the artist's legacy and present his work within the context of global "outsider" music.
