The Swingin' Canadians - Kangaroo Hash (2025) [Hi-Res]

Gene Dlouhy & The Swingin' Canadians, playfully dubbed "Pierogi Punk," were prominent figures in the music scene of Saskatchewan and Alberta. Led by brothers Gene and Reg, the ensemble performed a blend of Western swing, polka, country, and rock and roll, featuring brass, fiddle, and steel guitar instrumentation. The group enjoyed regional success, performing at rural events and rodeos, and notably opened for Roy Orbison. The musicians deliberately rejected a recording contract in the US to maintain their Canadian roots. Gene Dlouhy remained active as a performer until his death in 2020.
