Vinicio "Mambo" Franco was an iconic artist from the Dominican Republic who made significant contributions to the merengue genre. Starting his career in 1952, he achieved early success with Antonio Morel's orchestra and the hit "Apágame La Vela." Throughout his artistic journey, Franco collaborated with Super Orquesta San José and Cortijo Y Su Combo, and served as a co-lead singer for Johnny Ventura, contributing to the gold status of the album "Ah..! Yo No Se…No." Later, the singer toured successfully with Rafael Solano's orchestra across the Americas and the Caribbean. During this period, he also recorded four albums for the Ansonia label accompanied by Conjunto Típico Cibaeño.
