James Bernard, Hirooki Ogawa - The Golden Age of Horror Vol. 3: The Gorgon / The Manster (2025) [Hi-Res]

Dragon’s Domain Records announces the release of the third volume in "The Golden Age of Horror" series, featuring world premiere soundtracks for the classic horror films The Gorgon (1964) and The Manster (1959). This limited edition, scheduled for release in October 2025, includes recordings restored from analog sources.

The score for The Gorgon was composed by James Bernard, the architect of Hammer Studio’s signature sound. The film's plot, set in an early 20th-century German village, involves a mythical Gorgon curse that turns people to stone. Bernard's score is characterized by its romantic tone and complex harmonic structure.

The soundtrack for The Manster was created by Japanese composer Hirooki Ogawa. The movie follows an American journalist in Tokyo who falls victim to a genetic experiment, resulting in the growth of a second head and physical mutation. The release features liner notes from industry experts and has undergone digital mastering, although some technical limitations from the source materials may persist.
