Wovenhand - Black of the Ink (2011)

Black of the Ink is a unique collectible project that goes beyond a standard musical release. The edition primarily consists of a substantial hardcover book containing lyrics from all previous Wovenhand albums. A distinct feature of the book is that all lyrics are handwritten by the band's leader, David Eugene Edwards, and are complemented by his original illustrations, executed in his characteristic graphic style.

The musical component serves as a companion to the visual art: the enclosed disc features acoustic and re-arranged versions of selected tracks from the band's discography. These recordings are distinguished by a more chamber-like, intimate sound compared to the original studio versions, allowing the listener to focus on the poetic and atmospheric depth of the material.
