Judith Goldbach Quartett - Akrobat (2025) [Hi-Res]

On December 12, 2025, the Judith Goldbach Quartet, led by double bassist Judith Goldbach, released the album "Akrobat." The lineup features guitarist Sebastian Böhlen, vibraphonist Claus Kiesselbach, and percussionist Michael Fischer. The music is described as complex, nuanced "sound paintings" that transcend the easy listening genre. The album title is an anagram ("a Bartok"), reflecting the influence of composer Béla Bartók, as well as jazz bassist Dave Holland.

The tracks range from rhythmic samba ("Bartiktok") and atmospheric sketches ("Nachtwandel") to meditative pieces incorporating ethnic percussion. The final composition, "Unendlichkeit," is dedicated to the memory of the late drummer Christian Huber. On January 17, the quartet will perform the program live in Schönaich alongside a handbell choir.
