Synth Utopia is a conceptual anthology released by the Italian label CAM Sugar, dedicated to electronic and synthesizer experiments in Italian film music during the 1970s and 1980s. The compilation focuses on themes of science fiction, technology, and space travel, reflecting the era's naive yet innovative visions of the future. The tracklist features rare and unreleased compositions by maestros such as Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, Stelvio Cipriani, and Daniele Patucchi. The music ranges from hypnotic ambient and proto-techno to abstract electronic soundscapes created for B-movies, documentaries, and television idents. Continuing the "Heritage" series (alongside Paura and Boom!), the release offers listeners an immersion into a "retro-future" atmosphere, meticulously restored from the original master tapes.
