Cocanha - Serpente (Bande originale du court-métrage) (2025) [Hi-Res]

The short film Serpente, directed by Félix Imbert, features the character Éli, who breaks into a house to find Lina, a woman with a strange power of attraction, leading to a radical shift in Éli's world. The score, a collaboration between Cocanha and Pierre Desprats, was conceived to explore the fantasy genre by invoking traditional music as a "vessel that travels through time." Cocanha drew upon traditional Occitan melodies and the imagery of serpents to create original lyrics detailing the protagonists' encounter. The musical elements were recorded using voices, drums, percussion, and viola da gamba, with the vocal material collected during improvisations and experiments forming the foundation of the compositions. The resulting music, along with additional explorations expanding the film's universe, was released as an EP.
