The album Small Room In Dakar is the result of creative seclusion by percussionist and composer Ben Aylon in Senegal. While immersed in the local culture yet maintaining distance for reflection, the musician utilized the traditional xalam instrument to transform personal experiences into melodies. In collaboration with pianist Roei Hermon, who contributed minimalism and an unconventional approach, an album characterized by delicate textures and an ambient atmosphere was created. The work represents an introspective journey that transforms a sense of isolation into a search for unity and understanding, offering the listener a space for deep contemplation.
