Cindy Walker - Words & Music (1964)

Renowned songwriter Cindy Walker, credited with over 375 compositions for country music stars, recorded a solo album under the direction of producer Fred Foster. Top Nashville session musicians were recruited for the project. Although the performer's voice had lost its former clarity by the time of recording, the emotional depth and sincerity of the delivery rendered this collection of classic country tunes a unique and moving work, worthy of attention from genre connoisseurs.
