Released in 1975 on the Takoma label, "Christmas with John Fahey, Vol. II" is the second collection of holiday music by guitarist John Fahey. The record followed the commercially successful 1968 release, "The New Possibility." Guitarist Richard Ruskin contributed to several tracks on the album. Critics identify the extensive composition "Christmas Fantasy," which occupies the entire second side of the vinyl, as a key feature of the work. It is characterized by an experimental sound that shifts from melodious to dissonant, lending the music a surreal quality unconventional for the Christmas genre. In 2000, the album's material was partially reissued as part of the CD version of "The New Possibility."
