John Fahey - The Legend of Blind Joe Death (Remastered) (1996)

The history of John Fahey's debut album, Blind Joe Death, is characterized by a complex chronology. Originally released in a limited edition in 1959 featuring an experimental blend of blues and folk, the album underwent significant revisions. It was partially re-recorded in 1964 and then completely re-recorded in 1967 to achieve improved fidelity for the stereo market. This current edition combines the 1964 and 1967 versions onto a single disc, including a rare bonus track. Although some original 1959 recordings are omitted, this release is considered the near-definitive collection of the material, accompanied by detailed historical notes.
