Annalisa Tornfelt, Gideon Freudmann - Unraveling (2017)

The album "Unraveling" was created by Annalisa and Gideon as part of the Portland Cello Project specifically for an Alaskan tour during the spring thaw. The record represents a conceptual sonic journey where the harsh northern nature serves as a metaphor for the cycle of human relationships. The musical narrative sequentially guides the listener through stages of emotional experiences: from the search for intimacy and the euphoria of falling in love to painful separation, despair, and introspection. The album concludes with the theme of accepting inevitable change and the hope for renewal, symbolized by the melting ice.
