London-based multi-instrumentalist and producer BISHI released her third studio album, "Let My Country Awake," via Gryphon Records. The project’s conceptual foundation is rooted in the works of Rabindranath Tagore and the essay collection "The Good Immigrant," establishing a focus on anti-racism and the pursuit of cultural proximity. The record's sonic landscape is defined by the integration of electric sitar and an expansive vocal range, augmented by sampled interviews with prominent public figures. The work explores the phenomenon of dual identity in contemporary society and serves as a manifesto for empathy.
