Leszek Kułakowski Trio - Chlusty (2025)

"Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz-Witkacy, a painter, writer, playwright, philosopher, and amateur pianist, created improvisations he called "sloshes." These were spontaneous, unbridled outbursts of emotion, in which he emphasized the expression and authenticity of total free improvisation.

The pieces you will hear on the album, inspired by Witkacy's "sloshes," are short, unpredictable miniatures "composed" in a state of complete creative freedom. The process of creating individual miniatures did not exceed 15 minutes. The pieces are "musical portraits" in the style of Witkacy's Portrait Company. An exhibition of Witkacy's portraits is on display at the Biały Granary Museum of Central Pomerania in Słupsk. The music on the album is a "sound cliché" of the grotesque, absurd, and unpredictable—carrying profound metaphysical experiences—work of the brilliant Artist of "pure form"—Witkacy."---Leszek Kułakowski
