Sunnie Paxson - Groove Suite (2002)

While there are few surprises on keyboardist/composer Sunnie Paxson's Groove Suite, those in the mood for "lite" grooves infused with R&B attitude will find much to enjoy. There is not much focus on improvisation here, so listeners whose tastes veer more toward the Weather Report end of things may want to look elsewhere. However, Paxson, who worked with bassist Stanley Clarke, has a mellow and pleasing touch on the keyboard and crafts her songs with the audience in mind.
