The Los Angeles-based artist, who was formerly known as FRANKIE and was once featured on Taylor Swift‘s list of “New Songs That Will Make Your Life More Awesome,” just released her album Grit.
“Grit is my sophomore album about rediscovering myself and rebuilding my life after heartbreak. 13 songs about finding my voice again, gaining back my power, and tracing the thread through past relationships to understand why they unraveled and how they shaped me for the better moving forward,” Frankie said in a statement provided to JustJared.com.
She added, “Grit is about the courage it takes to walk away, to sit in the messy, to trust the uncomfortable in between, and choosing yourself even though it’s painful. It’s about strength, softness, and everything that exists in the tension between…plus sonically rocks harder too. Grit in every sense of the word.”
