New York City nightclub performer Rose Murphy kicked up a lot of noise in her act, playing jazz piano while she squealed, giggled and chee-chee'd her way through a stack of pop tunes with utter abandon and a mile of cuteness to go along with it. She landed some hits on minor labels in the late 1940s, and this 20-track compilation brings together her best known recordings for Majestic, Decca and Mercury. Her biggest and best-known hit, "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," is aboard, along with "Honeysuckle Rose," "When I Grow Too Old to Dream," "Jim," "Me and My Shadow," "Sweet Georgia Brown," "Pennies From Heaven" and "Cecelia," her only other charting record.
