This is Mr Deeble's sixth album and he's definitely got a firm grip on his style now. While other artists may flounder with different directions at this point, Robert has mastered his style of calming, quiet yet percussive songs. The album seems almost like a compilation of Pavement's slower songs with booming drums and slurred vocals defining the attitude of the pieces. "Weeds", the fifth track, seems an ideal representative of the album; the mood is that of the majority of the songs (calm and sullen) and the groove chugs along with the instruments. There are a great deal of other artists who have contributed to this singer/songwriter's album, including Victoria Williams and Ric Hordinski (singer of Monk). "The Colours Of Dying" is set apart from the rest of the album by being very largely percussion based and having some very strange instrumentation with the bridge showing an aboriginal sound. All very emotive.
