Gabriele Zanchini & Mariapia Gobbi - Cantares (2026) Hi-Res

Produced by Dodicilune, distributed in Italy and abroad by IRD and in major online stores by BELIEVE DIGITAL, Wednesday, 4 February 2026 sees the release of ‘Cantares’, the new CD by Rimini-based singer, songwriter and composer Mariapia Gobbi together with the trio led by pianist and arranger Gabriele Zanchini, with Milko Merloni on double bass and Manuel Giovannetti on drums.

An original journey of research, experimentation and continuous construction and deconstruction of the relationship between music and words, which began in 2019 as part of a theatrical collaboration and has now found its full expression in an artistic project based on the verses of some of the great poets of the past — Alighieri, Pascoli, Montale, Machado — and a contemporary writer, Maria Concetta Giorgi, enhanced by an intense reinterpretation of a piece by Fabrizio De Andrè. The texts, decontextualised and exalted in their conceptual essence, are supported by original music composed by Mariapia Gobbi and arranged with sensitivity to the creative and design context by pianist Gabriele Zanchini.
