It's crazy how much Veronika Rud can achieve on an EP with 6 tracks. She changes her expression several times along the way. She was nominated for a DMA as the new jazz name of the year in 2025 and continues to impress with her new release.

The song You don't have to do anything is a masterful meeting between voice and musicians. Her phrasings merge with Buster Isitt's guitar playing. The following track, Stranger, features scat singing, Albert Schwalbe on saxophone and swing all over the place. The title track Nothing is musical presence, where her regular trio with Elias Häninnen Pedersen on bass, Jakob Marker on drums and Svend Winther on piano stands out so sparklingly sharp. Then comes the spherical wordless Song of Hope and the introverted Hideaway. The last one is Kram, which is in Danish and hold on, how good it is. She is only in the company of the bass and fills up so much. Another nuance in Veronika Rud's large musical palette.
