The new album "Haf" by Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18 serves as a direct successor to their previous work, "Fontana Rosa." Departing from their earlier production model, the record was primarily tracked in London and Wales using analog tape, with only the final mixing stage taking place during a high-pressure five-day session in Rio de Janeiro. The project is dedicated to Ellis’s late music teacher, Haf Morris, reflecting her foundational influence on his artistic development. The release highlights a blend of traditional recording techniques and a rapid, spontaneous production cycle.
