Owelu Dreamhouse is a new collaborative project by former Saskwatch members Nkechi Anele and Nic Ryan-Glenie, blending cinematic soul, psychedelia, and Afrobeat. Following a five-year hiatus, the vocalist returns to the industry to explore her Nigerian heritage and the complexities of third-culture identity. Recorded with elite Melbourne instrumentalists, the album draws inspiration from West African traditions, contemporary jazz, and 90s R&B. The lyrical content addresses cultural dislocation, female empowerment, and historical reflections on Nigeria's past. This release marks a significant artistic evolution for the duo, who previously established themselves through extensive international touring and major festival appearances.
