Renatto Olivares - Aguas Raras, EP (2026)

The solo album of the vocalist/guitarist of the band Hesse Kassel, who made a lot of noise in the music press with their debut last year. The band itself left me indifferent, but Olivares' solo album has been listened to and re-listened to regularly since its release. I remember that in numerous reviews on Hesse Kassel, the Windmill scene was often referred to as an obvious source of inspiration. On the forums, Olivares' solo album is also compared to Geordie Grip's solo work, which was recorded in South America, among other places. Nowadays, almost everything that sounds like prog is being tried on the Windmill stage. In fact, Chile has the most powerful prog traditions. Akinetón Retard, Asceta, Cazuela de Cóndor, Los Tábanos Experience, Bandhada - it's all from there. Moreover, specialized prog festivals are held there to promote the local scene. They have their own classics, their own rock-in-opposition and their own jazz-rock.
