In November 1980, Nocella recorded his only all-jazz album “Everything Happens To Me” in a quartet. In this recording, Nocella manages to convey something more than usual, that feeling of real life, of experience, so important in jazz, and which, if sublimated in music, gives to it the same authenticity and sincerity. These are the characteristics which, beyond the technique, the number of notes played and the speed with which a piece is performed, reveal who is a true artist and who, otherwise, is only an excellent performer. Nocella was a true artist and even today, over thirty years after his death, the memory of him is alive in those who knew him or shared the stage with him, as well as in his many and irreducible admirers, who continue to keep alive his memory.
