Sidonie - Catalan Graffiti (2025) [Hi-Res]

The band Sidonie has released a new album titled "Catalan Graffiti," performed entirely in Catalan. The record is inspired by the pop aesthetics of the 50s and 60s, the American Brill Building songwriting tradition, and British post-punk. Switching to their native language altered lead singer Marc Ros's vocal delivery, making it softer and more natural, while also tapping into subconscious influences from the 1990s Catalan rock scene. The album intentionally avoids complex metaphors and social commentary, focusing instead on brevity (songs under three minutes), sincerity, and simple themes of love, told through the lens of childhood or adolescent wonder.
