If you first heard Nathan Fake when he warned us of the sky turning pink and have always wanted to hear more of that urgent, barbed euphoria and powerful but direct story telling then great news - Evaporator is the album you've been waiting on for years. No matter what point you first heard the Border Community alumni, this album is great news. Instrumental and based around certain corners of the trance palette, there's a powerful sense of lullabies, church music and the cosmos in general as he weaves through mystical ambience ('Sunlight On Saturn'), slo-mo stargazing disco ('Slow Yamaha') and powerfully uplifting arpeggiated trance that would have sounded great in Gatecrasher circa 2002 just as it most likely sounds in Berghain in 2026. With so many interesting tempo turns and many beatless plot twists (plus cameos from from Dextro & Clark) this is a fantastic body of work from an artist who's never compromised or lost sight of his own version in over 20 years.
