Brueder Selke - Notation 1 (2026) [Hi-Res]

The Berlin-based duo Brueder Selke (Sebastian and Daniel Selke) presents NOTATION, an interdisciplinary project comprising a music album and a notation book. The work is built upon concise musical fragments of the brothers' established pieces, reflecting their long-standing expertise in improvisation and collaborative synergy. The project is deeply rooted in the authors' personal history, having been raised in the former GDR, where resourcefulness and flexibility emerged as essential tools for both survival and artistic expression.

Conceived as a duology for cello and piano, the publication offers listeners mature audio versions of the compositions alongside the opportunity for personal interpretation of the transcribed material. The duo's creative philosophy centers on the pursuit of harmony between the musical profession and human existence, fostering a direct dialogue with the audience amidst contemporary global social upheavals. The technical production was handled by Edward Sikorski and Grammy-winning engineer Antonio Pulli.
