His Bach playing, starting in the 1955 Goldberg variation, covers the old concept of Bach and established a standard for 20th century new Bach playing with a deep spiritual spirit in a fresh and vivid way. This album is a legendary live where Gourd was invited to the Salzburg Music Festival in 1959.
