This is the album where Enoch Light really pulls out all the stops. Moog, sitar, tabla, conga, and brass all star here. Dick Hyman shines on the funky mod original "Sweet Julie" (for his wife) and "Explorations for Moog." "Season of the Witch" and "Theme From 'Shaft'" benefit greatly from Ed Shaughnessy's tabla, while the stringed instruments range from banjo to Vinnie Bell's Coral electric sitar. No one should confuse this for truly hip, but it is about as hip as Enoch Light gets. Even the "Hot Pants" cover is worth a spin.
