Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Two Pianos unfolds across four movements, with colors that are at times wondrous. The interplay between the pianos is among the most rewarding in the repertoire, creating moments of both charm and intensity.

Olivier Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen is a singular masterpiece of seven movements, each expressing its own worldview and philosophy. Messiaen assigns distinctive roles to the two pianos: the Primo voice handles rhythmic complexity, chord clusters, and all elements of tempo, color, and nuance; the Secondo voice carries the main melody, thematic material, and passages that demand emotion and power.
