Two is the second collaborative album by Nick Sanborn and Chris Rosenau, recorded at Betty’s studio following a four-year hiatus. Moving away from the accidental spontaneity of their 2019 debut Bluebird, the duo approached these sessions by intentionally disrupting their creative habits: Rosenau experimented with an unfamiliar guitar tuning, while Sanborn reconfigured his electronic setup to encourage real-time improvisation. A pivotal moment was the track "Kay," where piano replaced electronics to capture a sublime "waking light" atmosphere. The album serves as an intimate audio diary of friendship, presenting six compositions in chronological order, concluding with a poignant musical farewell that reflects the deep bond between the two long-time collaborators.
