This album was born out of an encounter and a friendship I deeply cherish. The selection of pieces reflects the richness and variety of our musical heritage.
Among them, I would like to draw special attention to the Friulian villotta “Ai Preât La Biele Stele” — an anti-militarist song and prayer for peace that, sadly, has once again become all too relevant after more than a century.
The recordings were made live, with only a handful of overdubs (the baritone guitar on tracks 2 and 11), in order to preserve the spirit of improvisation and the dialogue between us.
My heartfelt thanks go to all those who support us with their closeness and affection, to Stefano Amerio for his expertise and friendship, and to Toni Zanussi for sharing his art and welcoming us into his wonderful world.
