This album was a pleasant surprise. When I decided to give up my long tours across Europe, I thought that the album *The Road Well Travelled* would be the last in my discography. However, Günter Pauler from Stockfisch Records had other plans: he reminded me of the two concerts I’d given in Northeim in 2023, and that he’d recorded both evenings – the songs and the stories.

When I give a concert, I always tell the stories behind the songs before I sing them, but until now we’ve never recorded the stories – we only record the songs. That made it something special that we knew our audience would love. So what you’re hearing is a collection of songs with the stories, a compilation from two concert evenings.

There are a few mistakes; sometimes I miss a note on the guitar or change a line or two, but it’s live, natural and genuine, and a perfect example of shared emotions. What is undoubtedly perfect is the technical sound quality that you always expect and get from Stockfisch Records. If I have a message for you, it’s this: just sit back and enjoy the journey, and we’ll see you somewhere ‘on the road’. (Allan Taylor)
